Zesty Maids Wishes you a Happy Easter!

We, Zesty Maids want to wish you all a Happy Easter!

Easter has a huge religious significance, as for Christians, it is time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For non-religious, the Easter Bunny or Easter Egg tradition has become more and more celebrated during Easter-time.

Independent of your religion, the message we would like to share with you today is to enjoy this season to first, take some time to yourself; second, spend some quality time with your family and friends; and third, give some time to others.

Easter-time is time to:

  1. Take some time for yourself

We have talked on previous posts the important to dedicate some time to yourself. Life can get hectic and it is important to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Take some time to reflect about things you are grateful for and make some time to practice meditation.

According to the National Health Interview Survey – NHIS (April, 2016), meditation have shown to be effective to reduce some conditions such as high blood pressure, pain, and smoking craving. In addition, “it may ease symptoms of anxiety and depression, and may help people with insomnia” (National Health Interview Survey – NHIS, April 2016).

Therefore, save 10 or 15 minutes of your day for your well being (not doing). It is important for your spirituality, for your body, and for your mental health.

  1. Spend quality time with your loved ones

Plan some entertaining and healthy activities with your family or friends.

Since we are during the bluebonnet season here in Texas, look for farms, trails, or festivals to appreciate this flower beauty.

As an alternative, you can also enjoy the Easter-time to plan traditional activities with the kids such as coloring and decorating eggs, hunting eggs, visiting a farm, making bunny shaped chocolate, etc.

Don’t worry about the mess, as we know, mess is part of the learning process and creativity. As a suggestion, ask the little ones to help you to clean up the mess and put the materials away, which is also important to teach them to be organized.

  1. Give some time to others

It is important to give some of our time to others. Be a volunteer in some organization or help in your community. If you are religious, participate and assist in activities your church provides, and if you are non-religious, look for organizations, associates or programs where you can assist with their projects.

The main purpose of our lives is not being centered on ourselves, but being meaningful to others. In other words, being kind and helping each other. We all have some talent or some ability that we can share with others.

Overall, this is my message for you today: take some time to yourself, spend some quality time with your family and friends, and give some time to others.

We, Zesty Maids wishes you all a Happy Easter!
