Simple Tricks to Prevent Foggy Bathroom Mirrors
I believe you are going to agree with me on this: a warm or hot steamy shower is very relaxing; it is even better in cold days!
But sometimes that cloud covering your bathroom is not so much fun.
I mean, you want to use your bathroom mirror to do your hair, apply makeup, or shave, and the mirror is as foggy as it can be. Even if you try to clean it, it won’t be as clean as you want.
If that has happened to you, you are not alone! And the good news is that I have learned some simple tricks that work really well.
Here is a Zesty Maids tip for today to keep your bathroom mirror clear and clean:
3 tricks for fogless bathroom mirrors
#1 Vinegar
Exactly! As you may have noticed, vinegar is a base component for green cleaning. This is how you can use it to keep your mirrors clear.
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 spray bottle
- A microfiber cloth
Add the vinegar and the water into the spray bottle, and shake it slightly to combine the ingredients. Spray the mixture on the mirror and use the microfiber cloth to wipe it down. As you clean, fold the microfiber cloth and use the dry and clean side until the mirror is completely clear.
#2 Shaving cream
Believe it or not, you can use shaving cream for a fog-proof mirror. Here is how you can do.
- Foamy shaving cream
- A microfiber cloth
Apply a small amount of foamy shaving cream to the microfiber cloth, and start rubbing it to the mirror. Wipe it down until your mirror is clear or until cannot see the foam anymore.
The next time you take a hot steamy shower, the shaving cream will keep your mirror away from condensation, being clear and ready to use it.
#3 Dish soap
Here is another easy method to keep your bathroom mirror fog-free. Simply use dish soap!
- Dish soap
- A microfiber cloth
Add a few drops of dish soap on the microfiber cloth. Wipe your windows down the mirror with the soapy cloth until it is completely clean with no residue.
As mentioned on trick #2, the soap will act as a waterproof layer to your mirror, preventing condensation to form on it.
That is it! Simple, right?! And the best thing is that most of us have these ingredients or materials in your house.
I hope you all enjoy it! Leave us some comments, and let us know if you have tried any of these methods, which one is your favorite, or share some experiences.
