Green Clean Your Fruits and Veggies

Will washing fruits and veggies with vinegar really help get them clean?
Yes, it will and so will fresh, clean water 🙂
I buy all organic, but you never know where others hands have been and it’s also just good habit to wash your produce. If you do not buy organic you should definitely be using the vinegar water mixture.
Many farmers use pesticides to get rid of bugs when growing the fruits and vegetables. I’ve read research online that states that small doses of pesticides can adversely affect one’s health. (Potential Health effects)

When using vinegar, I like to use a 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar in a spray bottle. Then, spray your fruits and veggies, and let sit for 15 minutes. Next, use a soft sponge for your fragile fruits and veggies, or use produce brush for the harder skins. Once you’ve given a good scrub, rinse with fresh clean water.
If you don’t have a spray bottle just use a bowl and add 3 parts water to one part of vinegar. Let soak for 15 minutes, then use the same method of scrubbing.
